African Development Bank established a dream scholarship in 2017 for students from Africa. This project was initiated by the African Development Bank in collaboration with Japan Government. Japan Africa Dream Scholarship Program 2021-2022 aims at providing scholarships for African students to pursue their postgraduate studies. The fully-funded scholarship is available to African students. It allows them to improve their skills and contribute to their country's development.
The African Development Bank has a development agenda. In this fully funded Japan Africa scholarship, students are encouraged to continue studies that relate to AFDB's agenda. Agent points include: "Feed Africa", "Light up Africa", "Improve Africa's quality of life" and "Improve Africa's development." The agenda states that AFDB invests in projects that help to develop the African continent. The JADS master's scholarship focuses specifically on studies in energy, agriculture and health. It also focuses heavily on engineering.
Graduate students can receive a scholarship to study in Japan, which allows them to acquire key skills for development. Students from Africa will continue their postgraduate studies at Japanese universities, and will be taught the techniques of sustainable development. African students will have the opportunity to participate in a structured research culture, field trips and assignments as part of the dream scholarship 2021. They also have the chance to intern at leading Japanese companies.
There are many benefits to the fully-paid scholarship for African nationals living in Japan, such as: The fully paid scholarship for African nationals in Japan includes airfare, tuition fees, a monthly stipend, and expenses related to research. The universities are connected to Japanese industry, so students can expect to find a job after completing their post-graduate studies. However, JADS 2021-22 requires that students return to their home countries to complete their degree. This requirement is essential in order to use the skills of scholarship holders, which they have acquired in Japan's post-graduate scholarship program, in the socio-economic growth of Africa.
